Sharlene's Colorado Update

First let me thank Paul for that whitty and charming recap of his day. Big props.

Second- I am here in Colorado and have Piper staring at me wondering why I am no longer dancing with her so I better make this quick. Tuesday starts her second round of chemo today so send out extra prayers. I got to see her yesterday for most of the day. She looks much better than I was expecting. Her poor little eyelashes are falling out and she has lost half of her hair. But she is mostly rid of her fluid and looks like herself at least. The great news is JK and Charley both got to hold her yesterday for the first time in 2 weeks! It was so awesome. She even did major poops on both of them as a sign of affection. Such a generous girl. She is slowing being weaned off the vent but we will see if it is an option to even try most likely after the chemo. She is such a strong girl and you can just see the fight in her. She is heavily drugged so she hasn't opened her eyes but she does kick and move her legs if they aren't where she wants them. The drugs she is on are 3 times stronger than morphine so it impressive she can do anything other than sleep. The drs are all very happy with her progress and the hospital really is great. She is in excellent hands. Me and Piper have become best buds and she is so adorable! She is a little chatterbox and talks about Tuesday (or Tutti as she calls her) all the time. It is heartbreaking. Last night she woke up screaming for Tutti so she got to sleep with Mommy and Daddy. She misses her sister so much so please say extra prayers for Miss Piper as well. Piper did get to see her sister yesterday and give her some love and see her in Mommy's arms so I am sure that made her feel a little better. The boys are great kids as well. Axel and Spencer are just as little boys should be. Full of spunk and energy and always in the mood for a good mud fight. Today I plan on picking up a freezer for the Whitts so we have places to put frozen meals and also making some casseroles to freeze. I am also trying to reorganize some of the chaos which is a challenge because nobody knows where anything is since everyone as put things in different places. Its all baby steps. Hopefully tonight JK and I can go out for some adult time and tomorrow JK and Charley can go to dinner. Last night they went to dinner with Charley's mom at Red Lobster (Charley's mom loves her some Red Lobster and it was her birthday so her choice) and I only got tied up once by the boys so I consider it a success. Well Piper is now being not so subtle and on top of me so I better go. Love to you all and keep those prayers coming
